Your Better Angels
A Haiku poem by Jenny Bienemann
Your better angels
want you to know they are there
watching over you
Every heart must learn
to fly and fall and not break
so they send you birds
Birds will sing your heart
right back into your chest, home
like it never left
Very suddenly
what could never be made right
dissolves into hope
That’s just what they do
those better angels of ours
we hardly notice
When you can’t believe
what is happening to you
look for the feathers
tiny little signs
all around you, all the time
for you, only you
